RailsConf Proposal Workshop OMG
Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 6:00 PM - Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 8:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, CA
RailsConf would love to give the program committee a broad set of proposals and presenters to choose from this year. To encourage that, I'm hosting a workshop to help Rails developers in San Francisco come up with ideas and craft strong proposals.
Thanks to my employer, Pivotal Labs, for hosting and providing pizza & drinks!
Tuesday March 2nd, 6-8pm: idea generation. We'll have Ben Scofield (half the RailsConf program committee) on the phone to tell us about what they're looking for this year and any holes in the current proposal set they'd like to fill. After hearing from him we'll work in small groups to brainstorm ideas from our own experiences, and, time permitting, start writing abstracts and descriptions.
Tuesday March 9th, 6-8pm: feedback. We'll have the entire program committee (i.e., Ben and Chad Fowler) on the phone. You'll get the chance to tell them about your proposal-in-progress, and get feedback on how to make it stronger. If I'm sufficiently persuasive, we'll have a few other experienced presenters in the room who can also help.
CFPs for RailsConf close on March 17th so you have some time after the last meeting to put on final polish.
